IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS-REGISTRATION & SUBMISSION OF ONLINE APPLICATION
1) Candidates should make sure they meet all qualifying requirements for the position or positions as of the online application deadline, which is February 22, 2025. Candidates should not apply if they are awaiting the results of their prescribed educational qualification, since these will be announced after the online application submission deadline. The Act "THE PUBLIC EXAMINATIONS" (PREVENTION OF UNFAIR MEANS) BILL, 2024, which is accessible on sansad.in>legislation>bills and Gazette of India and on dopt.gov.in/whats-new, is of interest. It will go into effect on June 21, 2024.
2) Before filling up of the online application, candidates are advised to thoroughly read the entire instructions and information in the CEN contained in this notification and available on the websites of RRBs.
3) Candidates should be extremely wary of phony websites and job racketeers and only access the official websites of the RRBs/RRCS listed in Paragraph 21.0 (A & B) of this CEN. The CBT date and outcome will be posted on the RRBs' official websites, which are listed in paragraph 21.0 (A) of this CEN. Periodically, dates for PET, Document Verification, Medical Examination, and Empanelment will be announced on the RRC websites mentioned in paragraph 21.0 (B) of this CEN.
4) Since RRBs and RRCS will only send recruitment-related messages by email and SMS until the recruitment process is ended, candidates should have their own cellphone number and a legitimate, active personal email address, and they should maintain both active during the whole recruitment process. Requests to modify an email address or cellphone number will never be considered by RRBs or RRCs. Under this CEN, a single ONLINE registration using a single email address and cellphone number is allowed.
5) Only online applications must be submitted via the URL on the RRB websites indicated in this CEN's Paragraph 21.0 (A). For all of the announced positions in this CEN, the chosen Railway just has to receive ONE application. Only one railway may get applications from candidates. If you submit applications to more than one railway, they will all be rejected. A candidate will be disqualified and debarred if they attempt to submit more than one application in violation of this CEN. Before submitting an online application, candidates must review the Post Parameter and Vacancy tables of this comprehensive CEN No. 08/2024 to determine their eligibility.
6) Only the information provided in the online application will be used to determine a candidate's eligibility. It is not necessary for candidates to mail copies of their applications, certificates, or other documents to the relevant RRBs. The candidate's candidature will be immediately rejected if it is discovered during the recruitment process or later on that any of the information they submitted in their application is inaccurate or false, that they have omitted any pertinent information, or that they do not meet the requirements for the position or positions.
7) Even after submitting their application, candidates can change all of their application details—with the exception of the information they provided on the "Create an Account" form (such as their email address and mobile number) and their chosen railway—by paying a modification fee before the application's deadline. However, RRBs will not consider any representations for changing the information provided in the application beyond the deadline for application corrections (06.03.2025).
8) Medical Fitness: Applicants must confirm that they meet the requirements for the position or positions they are applying for. Candidates should be aware that they will not be offered an alternate appointment if it is determined that they are medically unfit for the chosen position or posts at the time of appointment.
9) Age Limit as on 01.01.2025.
The lower and upper age limits prescribed are indicated at Para 5.1 with relevant upper age relaxation.
10) The deadline for submitting ONLINE applications against this CEN shall be the crucial date for claiming SC/ST/OBC/EWS/EBC status or any other advantage, such as fee reduction, reservation, age relaxation, etc., unless otherwise noted.
11) Technical and logistical viability will determine which city or center is assigned for CBT/PET. In order to attend CBT/PET, candidates might need to travel to different cities or states. Under no circumstances may a request be made to change the exam center, date, or shift.
12) Applicants must create an account during the online application process. Candidates should use their existing login credentials to apply for this CEN (i.e., CEN No. 08/2024) if they have already created an account for any Indian Railways CEN of 2024. In the event that the candidate has not yet created an account, he must "Create an Account" before completing the CEN application. Since any changes made after the account has been created will not be accepted, candidates are encouraged to carefully fill out the information needed to create their account. Once the 'Create an Account' form has been established, the information entered (including email address and cellphone number) and the selected railway cannot be changed. During the "Create an Account" step, candidates are encouraged to use Aadhar to verify their identity for their own benefit. They can still authenticate throughout the online application process by supplying their Aadhar data and utilizing the "Verify Aadhar" feature if they missed this step. This step must be completed at any point prior to the application's final submission. For the candidates themselves, this will make the process go more smoothly at various points along the hiring process.
13) A candidate may pay a non-refundable modification fee of Rs. 250/-per instance between 25.02.2025 and 06.03.2025 (23:59 hours) if, after submitting the online application (complete in all respects), they wish to change, amend, or correct any information other than the information provided in the "Create an Account" form (including email address and mobile number) and the selected railway. The details submitted in the "Create an Account" form, such as the chosen railway, email address, and phone number, cannot be changed.
14) After 06.03.2025, RRBs shall not entertain any representation for modification of the information furnished in the application.
15) Candidates are encouraged to register and submit their ONLINE applications well in advance of the closing date to avoid last-minute rush. This is because there may be a chance that they won't be able to access the relevant RRB website due to a heavy internet load in the final days of online registration.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS- EXAMINATION PROCESSES
1) Malpractices: Any applicant who is discovered to have used unfair methods in the exam or CBT, substituted someone else to take the test, or attempted to impersonate someone else would be permanently forbidden from taking any of the RRB/RRCS exams. Additionally, he or she will be disqualified from any future Railway appointments and, if already appointed, will be let go from their position. These candidates may also face legal action. The Act "THE PUBLIC EXAMINATIONS" (PREVENTION OF UNFAIR MEANS) BILL, 2024, which is accessible on sansad.in>legislation>bills and Gazette of India and dopt.gov.in/whats-new, is of interest. It will go into effect on June 21, 2024.
2) Items prohibited: Mobile phones, Bluetooth, pen drives, computers, calculators, wrist watches, and other electronic devices, as well as pens and pencils, wallets, handbags, shoes, belts, and metallic clothing, such as decorations, are absolutely prohibited in the exam room. In addition to legal action, including disqualification from future exams, any violation of this directive will result in summary rejection. Since provisions for safekeeping cannot be guaranteed, candidates are urged to avoid bringing any of the prohibited goods, such as cell phones, to the exam location.
3) Exam Phases: There will only be one Computer Based Test (CBT) phase in the exam. The Railway Administration is still able to administer the CBT in one or more stages, nevertheless. Candidates who pass the CBT must take the Physical Efficiency Tests (PETs). Next will be a medical checkup and document verification.
4) Call Letters: Applicants must use the URLs on the RRBs/RRCS official websites to download the City and Date Intimations, e-Call Letters, and Travel Authority (if applicable).
5) Normalization of Marks: All test stages requiring numerous sessions will have their marks adjusted.
6) PET Short Listing: Candidates will be shortlisted for PET based on railway/RRC, at a rate three times the number of openings (may increase or decrease as required by Railway Administration). The applicants' performance in the CBT will determine who makes the PET short list. For multiple-session CBT, marks will be adjusted.
7) Based on their performance in CBT and PET qualification, candidates will be shortlisted for DV and Medical Examination for each Railway/RRC at a ratio of one to the number of openings for that Railway/RRC. The selected applicants for DV will receive information on how to obtain their E-call letters for appearing in DV via official RRC websites, SMS, and email (sent to their registered email address and cellphone number).
8) Negative Marking: The CBT will assign negative marking for incorrect answers. A third of the points allotted for each question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
9) Calling more applicants than there are openings: applicants who have more openings than the allotted number may be summoned for PET and/or the next steps. This is to address issues with candidates not showing up and other similar demands throughout the hiring process. It should be made very clear that a candidate does not automatically be hired or have the right to be given consideration for a position with the Railways just because they have applied for and passed the PET and later DV and medical examination phases.
Important:-
It is recommended that candidates confirm that they meet the medical requirements for the positions they have chosen. Applicants who are determined to be medically unfit for the position or positions they have applied for will not be offered another appointment. Applicants for A2 medical standard positions should be aware that these positions have strict medical requirements; therefore, they are especially encouraged to make sure that their physical and visual fitness meet the standards outlined in the medical manual mentioned above.
NATIONALITY/CITIZENSHIP:
1) A candidate must be either:
- a citizen of India, or
- a citizen of Nepal, or
- a subject of Bhutan, or
- a Tibetan refugee who arrived in India prior to January 1, 1962, with the goal of relocating there permanently, or
- A person of Indian heritage who has migrated to India from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of settling there permanently.
- As long as the candidate falls into one of the aforementioned categories (b), (c), (d), or (e), the Government of India will have granted them a certificate of eligibility.
2) A candidate who needs a certificate of eligibility may be allowed to take the test, but the Government of India cannot award him an appointment until the required eligibility certificate has been provided.
