Schedule of Online Engagement for Indian Post Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) I January 2025

Notification:- Applications are invited from the eligible candidates to fill the vacant posts of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDSs) [i.e. Dak Sevaks, Branch Postmasters (BPMs), and Assistant Branch Postmasters (ABPMs) in various Department of Posts offices. Details about the open positions are provided in Annexure-I.The online application process can be completed at https://indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.

PayScale:-

  1. BPM-    Rs. 12000/- To Rs. 29380/-
  2. ABPM-    Rs. 10000/- To Rs. 24470/-

Age Limit:

  1. Minimum Age: 18 years
  2. Maximum Age: 40 years
  3. The age of the applicant will be as of the application deadline.

Age Relaxations in upper age limit:

  1. SC / ST-    5 years
  2. OBC-    3 years
  3. EWS-     no relaxation
  4. PwD-    10 years
  5. PwD + OBC-    13 years
  6. PwD & SC/ST: 15 years


QUALIFICATION AS ON THE DATE OF NOTIFICATION:

1. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

(a) The Secondary School Examination pass certificate of the 10th grade with passing grades in English and mathematics, administered by any approved Board of School Education by the Indian government, state governments, or union territories, is the educational prerequisite for GDS enrollment.

(b)The candidate must have completed at least 10th grade coursework in the local tongue from an accredited school. The Department's designated local language for each post is detailed in Annexure III.

(c) Arunachal Pradesh has a special provision for GDS participation.

With Notification No. SJETA-1601/10/2023 dated 09.02.2024, the Arunachal Pradesh government designated 23 tribal languages and dialects as "Third Languages." As a result, the Department has created a unique clause for GDS involvement in the State of Arunachal Pradesh, which will take effect on March 1, 2024, and last for five years:

Applicants for positions as GDS in Arunachal Pradesh offices must be proficient in both languages, meaning they must (i) have studied "English or Hindi" at least through the tenth grade and (ii) speak any of the tribal local languages or dialects that the Arunachal Pradesh government has occasionally designated as a third language.
The Department will determine the proficiency of these tribal local languages and dialects based on a certificate issued by the concerned Deputy Commissioners or any other officer authorized by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh in this regard. The shortlisted candidate must present the certificate at the time of physical verification of the documents, as these languages are currently not taught in schools up to the 10th Standard.

i).Knowledge of computer

ii).Knowledge of cycling

iii).Adequate means of livelihood
